MARNYS® Basil Essential Oil is 100% pure and chemotyped, that is, it has got a defined composition and is 100% of natural origin. Basil oil has been obtained by steam distillation and has not been denatured or mixed with other oils, what ensures the properties of the essential oil.

The genus Ocimum (of basil) is represented by more than 150 species and has got a wide geographical distribution in all regions with tropical and subtropical climate. It’s an important group of aromatic plants containing essential oils rich in different constituents, such as linalool, geraniol, citral, camphor, eugenol, thymol, etc. It’s highly valuable in the perfume and cosmetic, food and pharmaceutical industries.

Ocimum basilicum (white basil) belongs to the family Lamiaceae and is one of the representatives of the genus Ocimum. It’s extracted from crops intended for its marketing across the world, and traditionally used for gastrointestinal well-being.

MARNYS® Basil Essential Oil contains the chemotype: methyl chavicol. Its colour and appearance ranges from pale yellow to amber, and it’s got a characteristic spicy and slightly aniseed-flavoured taste with a deep scent, properties that favour food taste.

MARNYS® Basil Essential Oil is a food-grade oil considered as irreplaceable by many chefs, especially in Italy, where pesto is made with basil leaves, garlic and pine nuts. Also in France this is one of the main ingredients in Soup Pistou. The culinary use of MARNYS® Basil Essential Oil brings a fresh touch of elegance to your dishes.

Always dilute 1-2 drops in 250g of food (juice, tea, salad, etc.). Maximum 3 times a day.
