MARNYS® sugar-free Valerian lozenges have got a minimum valerenic acid content of 0.2%.

Valerian has been known and used since ancient times. Greek and Roman doctors already used it in their traditional herbology because of its positive effects on stress, and it is included in several pharmacopoeias. The bioactive compounds in Valerian are terpenic in nature, such as valerenic acid, isovaleric acid, valerone, or valerianol among others.

Valeriana officinalis is an herbaceous and evergreen plant belonging to the family Valerianaceae, with leaves grouped in rosettes at the base and opposite at the stem. For the extraction of its active compounds, the underground organs are used: rhizomes, roots and stolons. Valerian is native to Northern Europe and Asia, and is grown in several European countries.
